Sales tips - 7

1. You don't have to make everyone happy.

The best salespeople know the 80/20 rule - 80 percent of their commission comes from 20 percent of their clients. You can maximize your effort to get the greatest return.

2. Stay one step ahead.

The best salespeople understand their best clients inside and out. They research and dig deep into the client and the industry. Do your research and stay prepared.

3. Under-promise and over-deliver.

Set customer expectations - If you set proper expectations you can increase deal size and customer retention. Target - when the product or service is delivered, will the customer be blown away?

4. Solve your customers' problems.

Listen to what your customers are saying and pay attention to their goals and pain points. Through this discovery, you can align in a more meaningful way with the desired outcome

5. Get to the NO.

I love this one - the world’s best salespeople get prospects to say “no.” Another way to view “no” is as an opportunity for prospects to let their guard down a bit and open up to you.

Getting to a “no” comes down to understanding real objections and reacting professionally & positively.

6. Eliminate prospects who don’t fit your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)

The goal is to sort through prospects as quickly as possible to find a few great prospects, instead of trying to persuade every prospect to do business with them.

7. Steer towards the YES

Conversely to 5, the best salespeople know that the most persuasive person is the customer. Steer towards their success and you will achieve yours.
